Hey fans. I guess I should apologize for not blogging consistently during Thanksgiving break. I thank you in advance for your forgiveness. :)
Thanksgiving break 2010 = successful.
So, I decided to head to the airport early on Wednesday with Kaitlyn and Sara. My flight was scheduled for 7:00 PM but I was hoping to catch an earlier flight. The Tech Trolley/MARTA trip was fun. When we got there, Sara went to the bus station and Kaitlyn and I headed to the Delta desks to see about an earlier flight for me. Kaitlyn wasn’t going with me to Fort Worth (FunkyTown) but we were gonna hang out at the airport together until our respective flights left. I consulted the self-check in machine for a flight that was leaving soon. I got a free ticket change to a flight that left at 1:32 rather than 7:00. Score! but that gave me 50 minutes to get through security and to my gate. In my mind, I imagined this was impossible for a few reasons; Firstly, because the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the most traveled day of the year (as well as the Sunday after Thanksgiving), and because of the alleged protests against obscene and aggressive TSA search methods. Kaitlyn and I headed towards the security checkpoint and to our surprise and delight, got through security in under 10 minutes. I was pretty happy. :) So I went to B21 to wait for my flight. The marquee at that gate said the flight to DFW was leaving at 2:45. Oh well! If my flight was leaving then instead of 7, that’s still a significant time gap. So I tried to board the plane, but my ticket was denied. The lady operating the ticket-checker sent me to the Help Line phone bank. On the way there, I noticed that the flight I wanted, the 1:32 flight took off from B31, not B21. I felt so stupid. That was a pretty dumb move. Anyway, the lady on the phone put me on standby for the flight for which I had been waiting. Praise God, There was a seat available. And it was in the back row! Wow! I sat in between two cool guys and slept basically the whole way to DFW, which is miraculous because for my whole life I have been physically incapable of sleeping on planes. So that was cool and the wait to get off the plane was as bad as expected.
My mom and siblings picked me up from the airport and we headed to the Fort. Dad was working late so dinner would also be late. This allowed me to hang out at Kara’s house with Kara, Travis, Zack, Nicole, and Kara’s new puppy. :) I really want a dog. After that I ate at my house and hung out with the fam.
Thursday was Thanksgiving. It was a happy one. It was my family, my grandparents, and a super cool couple (categorized in extended family) that live in south Texas. We ate a lot and I fell asleep. For two hours. (stupid turkey) I learned that this couple is moving to South Carolina and will be not too far from ATL. :)
Friday was Black Friday. I slept. :) I went to Garland to hang out with my cousins. It was cool because Julio started college this year and Gabriel just had an intense surgery in which he had an allergic reaction to one of the medicines the doctors used. But he’s fine now. :) For dinner, the same group that celebrated Thanksgiving went to Bosses Pizza for dinner. This place makes the best pizza I have ever consumed. I tried to set up a fun friend hang out session thing but nobody was able to make it. It’s not a big deal because I’ll be back home in three weeks and will be in the Fort for a month. :)
Saturday started with an awesome breakfast at Ol’ South Pancake House with Carson. She is definitely one of my best friends from SCS. Later, I had an awesome lunch at Fuzzy’s Tacos with Kegan, my bro. I had to clean the second floor of my house for a little bit but after that, I headed to Kegan’s where we replaced the bearings on my Loaded Dervish. We also played like Super Smash Bros. Brawl with the babies. :) Falcon Punch! haha Me and Kegan’s family went to Mellow Mushroom for good pizza. Kegan and I went to Tart Yogurt Bar on Bryant Irvin to meet up with another of my best friends from SCS, Hannah S. We hung out there for awhile and talked about fun things. We listened to a Bob Rivers Christmas parody (Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire) and watched a YouTube video that is super cool (search: Pretty Girl Makes Faces. however, be warned, the girl in this video curses once.). Then, Kegan and I went to downtown to shred some parking garages with our awesome longboards. The first one was really fun and Kegan handled it well for the first time. Then we went to a 15-floor garage with the Larry North fitness center at the bottom of it. If we were allowed to stay out later we would have experienced less cars and a smoother/more exciting ride. Oh well, we had fun. AFter longboarding, we watched Hot Rod (one of my favorite movies) at my house. It was nice to see my bro and best friend. I love you, man.
Today is Sunday. I ate at Whataburger twice today, once for breakfast and again for lunch. Don’t judge. :) Church was cool except I was so tired from staying up late packing. meh. So now I’m at the airport waiting to board the plane. I’m POSITIVE I’m at the correct gate (...right? *verifies for the twentieth time*).
There only three more weeks of this semester left: “Hell week”, “dead week”, and finals week. I’ve got two tests this week, that’s probably why they call it Hell week. I’m not ready for them.
I already miss my FunkyTown friends and I can’t wait to see them soon. But, I do want to see my GT friends. I guess in heaven my friends won’t be all over the United States, they’ll all be in heaven (I hope); that will be nice.
Peace out
P.S. I’ve watched a lot of movies recently. I’ve seen Gamer, Full Metal Jacket, and The Good, The Bad, The Weird.
ADDITION:
So, this section is a recap for everything that happened since I got on the plane ‘til now.
I watched half of Scott Pilgrim Versus the World and I really want to finish it. I had to walk all the way from the Midtown MARTA station to Fitten. THAT. SUCKED. When I got there I met with a few people. I am very happy to see them. I talked with Tori for over an hour for sure. I am so happy that she is hearing what God is telling her. I’m proud of her even if she isn’t. :)
P.S. One day...In the faraway land of...Toronto, Canada.
